The Savannah Area Flute Association’s flute choir is open to flutists of all ages and abilities. Members include flute teachers, band directors, adult amateurs, and college and school-aged students. Young (middle school or below) or beginner flutists should contact us to see if we will be playing music for which they can join. Rehearsals take place bi-weekly on Sunday afternoons from 2:00pm to 3:30pm at Portman’s Music (7650 Abercorn St, Savannah, GA 31406).
There are two terms in which SAFA rehearses and performs: Fall (August to December) and Spring (January to May). Members are not required to participate in every term.
Members play flute ensemble repertoire on flutes ranging from piccolo to the bass flute as well as learn flute technique and musical skills through exercises and activities with their fellow flutists.
